Pu’u Keka’a or commonly known as Black Rock, is where ancient Hawaiians believed was the place where their spirits went to jump off to join ancestors forever. It was known as leina a ka ‘uhane “Leap of the Soul”. Ancient Hawaiians believed a live person could not jump from the spot unharmed, until, King Kahekili jumped from Black Rock and emerged unharmed.
